Red Clover and Menopause Support
Red Clover is a flowering plant that women have used for centuries to help relieve common menopausal symptoms. Red clover contains isoflavones, a type of phytoestrogen. Phytoestrogens have a similar chemical makeup to oestrogen, the female hormone that declines as a woman goes through the menopause. Hence why red clover is used to ease menopausal symptoms.
The average age for a woman in the UK to reach the menopause is 51 and usually occurs between 45 and 55 years of age. However, some women experience the menopause much earlier, either naturally or because of cancer treatment for example. Regardless of age, the symptoms women experience during the menopause are unpleasant to say the least. The ten most common symptoms during the menopause are:
- Hot flushes
- Fatigue / low energy
- Dry skin
- Problems sleeping
- Changes in mood
- Weight gain
- Night sweats
- Brain fog
- Stress
- Cognitive changes
Our Menopause Complex
Our new product development team have carefully selected ingredients to help ease these symptoms. In addition to Red Clover Extract, our Menopause Complex contains the following ingredients:
Magnesium
Magnesium may be one of the most important health‑promoting minerals. It is involved in energy production, nerve function, muscle relaxation and bone and tooth formation. Research indicates that magnesium is beneficial for the prevention and treatment of heart disease. It may increase bone density in postmenopausal women, helping to stem the onset of osteoporosis.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)
Thiamin contributes to a healthy metabolism, a properly functioning nervous system and normal heart function.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Riboflavin has been credited with counteracting migraines, preventing cataracts, and supporting healthy skin.
Vitamin B3 (Niacin)
Niacin helps maintain healthy skin, supports the nervous and digestive systems, and may ease depression, anxiety and insomnia.
Biotin & Vitamin B5
Biotin helps promote healthy hair, skin and nails, and supports the body in using carbohydrates, fats and protein. Vitamin B5 helps promote a healthy nervous system and may alleviate migraines and indigestion.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 regulates hormonal activity, supports cardiovascular health, and may help lift depression and ease insomnia.
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 helps treat and prevent anaemia, supports normal nervous system function, psychological function, immune function, and reduces tiredness and fatigue.
Folic Acid
Folic acid is necessary for every function in the body that requires cell multiplication. It helps produce key chemicals for the brain and nervous system.
